Effective June 29, 2020: Changes in current guidelines are in italics.

Updated Waiver: http://lakeparkpool.com/wp-content/uploads/Safety-Code-of-Conduct-and-Waiver-for-Lake-Park-Recreation-Association.pdf

Baby Pool Sign-Up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054ca8a92fa4fb6-baby

Any scenario in which many people gather together poses a risk for COVID-19 transmission. We are doing what we can within a reasonable effort to minimize the risk of exposure. However, any member who visits and uses the LPRA facilities does so at the assumption of their own risk. These rules are meant to minimize risks and encourage physical distancing. We anticipate they will be in effect for the immediate future and we will continue to adapt our policies as the situation warrants. We reserve the right to revise our special COVID-19 policies without notice. ALL rules and regulations in this document will expire July 17 UNLESS phase 2 is extended by our governing authorities, in which case these rules and regulations will be extended until phase 2 expires. We do not yet know what phase 3 will look like for the pool; we will let you know once we have more information.

The Basics:

  • Based on the numbers given by the state, our membership numbers, and the attendance history of our club, we do not see the capacity limits being an issue on the pool deck. However, the “in the pool” number is a little on the low side and we ask that you please be courteous of others that may be waiting to get in the water. Please limit your in water time to 25 minutes if people are waiting. If it becomes an issue we will set up a reservation system at that time.
  • Capacity numbers at any given time are as follows: 244 members on Deck and 41 in the pool at one time
  • Baby pool will be reservation only and limited to one family at a time. Please visit the signup genius for times and details.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054ca8a92fa4fb6-baby This link will also be available in the COVID-19 tab on our website.
  • Mandatory onetime waivers MUST be signed prior to first entry into the pool. Waivers can be found on our website under membership or COVID-19 tabs, or you may get one at the guard desk when checking in for the first time.
  • Do not enter any of the LPRA facilities if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, tested positive for COVID-19, or been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days. In short if you or a member of your household are, or have been sick, STAY HOME.
  • Be respectful of those around you. It is NOT the lifeguard’s responsibility to enforce social distancing as they need to have their focus on members in the water and all safety concerns that are water related. It is on each of our members to act with respect towards others. Ultimately we are all adults and are responsible for ourselves, our family, and the impact we make on one another. Be adults. Be reasonable. Be compassionate. Be understanding.
  • If you have any questions or concerns please send them to lpkrecassoc@gmail.com or lakeparkboardchair@gmail.com

Social Distancing:

  • Members should stay at a minimum 6 feet apart from anyone outside your household. This is both on the deck, in the water, and around the lifeguard stands.
  • The maximum number of people in each restroom at one time is 2. Go in, do your business, wash your hands, and get out. No playing will be tolerated.
  • Members will arrive at the pool showered and dressed to swim and will leave in their swimsuit. NO shower use will be permitted. Bathrooms should only be used for using the restroom, washing hands, and changing diapers.
  • All pool goers under the age of 12 should be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to ensure their children adhere to the guidelines, including social distancing. This is a temporary change in the minimum age requirements.
  • We expect members to follow the NC state mandate regarding use of facemasks while on the pool deck.
  • Please DO NOT wear a facemask while in the water.

Amenities and equipment:

  • The following are suspended and will not be available at this time
  • NO Parties will be scheduled (birthday, holiday, private, lock-in’s, etc)
  • NO refrigerator or microwave will be available for use
  • NO water fountain will be available for use. Please bring your own beverages.
  • NO Kickboards will be available
  • Guest policy update: Members will be able to bring 2 guests per membership for $10.00 per guest. Please see guest tab for more details.

  • Lost and found items will be discarded in the trash every other day. If you or a member of your household feels you/they have lost something please ask the guards for permission to look in the lost and found bins. Wash your hands immediately after you are through looking in the bins for your item(s). Lost and found is NOT a place to borrow goggles, towels, swim caps, etc for personal use. Please refrain from doing so.
  • Please maintain a social distance of 6 feet from anyone outside of your household when using the lounge chairs. Please do not move lounge chairs for any reason.

This gives these members access to the courts and bathrooms during normal operating hours ONLY. NO USE OF THE POOL IS PERMITED. Any use of the courts before or after hours will require an individual from the volleyball committee to be present so as to ensure proper sanitizing and locking up of the facility is done. Here are a few rules for volleyball and tennis.

  • All volleyball and tennis members MUST sign in at the lifeguard desk and indicate “volleyball” or “tennis” next to their name.
  • Mandatory onetime waivers MUST be signed prior to first use of the courts. Waivers can be found on our website under membership or COVID-19 tabs, or you may get one at the guard desk when checking in for the first time.

  • We encourage all members to bring their own sanitizing materials to help conserve what is provided by our pool management company.
  • Payments for this membership can be made by check or PayPal. Please make checks out to Lake Park Recreation Association and put “volleyball/tennis” in the memo spot. If paying via PayPal: log on to PayPal and send payment to lakeparkaccts@gmail.com. Please add 3% to cover the fees associated with this.
  • All other volleyball and tennis rules may be found here; http://lakeparkpool.com/volleyball/ and http://lakeparkpool.com/tennis/

Cleaning and Sanitation:

  • In addition to pool staff sanitation, we ask that members sanitize their own areas before and after use. Disinfecting supplies will be available in limited amounts. We ask that you please bring your own disinfecting supplies, if possible, to help our supplies last longer.
  • We have asked the guards to select 2 adult swim times each day to disinfect certain touch points in and around the facilities. These include but are not limited to ladders, hand rails, and bathrooms. If you find the guards performing these tasks please allow them the space to do so. Please refrain from using the restrooms during these times if possible.
  • You should practice proper personal hygiene including washing your hands frequently and trying not to touch your face or mouth. Hand sanitizer and limited disinfectant supplies will be available throughout the facility to make this easier for our members.
  • Please refrain from spitting in the water, on the pool deck, and any other part of our facilities including the volleyball and tennis courts.

Checking-in:

  • When checking in for your first visit of the summer, please come to the table in front of the guard desk and have your waiver signed and ready to hand to the guard at the window. If you do not have your waiver, please let the guard know and they will supply you with one. NO SIGNED WAIVER MEANS NO ENTRANCE TO POOL OR FACILITIES.
  • The member sign in book will be on the table in front of you. Please write your member number, the name of each member attending at time of check-in, and time you arrive. If a part of your family arrives later, they will be required to sign in separately (this does not include someone parking the car).
  • We encourage everyone to bring their own pen. If you forget your pen, we will have one available, as well as hand sanitizer for you to use after signing in.

Membership Dues:
